Kips Bay Decorator Show House New York
‘Spring Fever’ is a design created in collaboration with Timothy Corrigan. In 2023 Timothy Corrigan worked on decorating the living room at the Kips Bay Decorator Show House in New York, where this wallpaper design brought the room to life.

Illustrations of natural history by Flemish artist Joris Hoefnagel (1542-1601)

The inspiration for 'Spring Fever' was one of Hoefnagel's illustrations. This was used as the basis for a repeat pattern built to be suitable for a wide range of colours and backgrounds. Along plants drawn in Hoefnagel's style, there are also tiny insects, butterflies, frogs, and snails hiding among the flora.

Close-up of layout. Design is built as a half-drop pattern repeat. The elements were each painted by hand and then digitally edited to create a layout. For this project, the design is printed on a gilded substrate to allow the colours of the room to reflect in the wallpaper.

Final layout of the room. The design layout is carefully framed so that no elements are cut during installation.
